International Finn Class Association President, Philippe ROGGE (BEL) is to retire from the Finn Class Executive.
ROGGE has been a member of the Finn Executive Committee for ten years, with almost eight of those as President.
He said in a statement, 'My decision is based on additional professional activities, which have in the last few years prevented me from attending and/or competing in most of the events below the level I felt a President should.'
'Resigning now means people will start thinking about succession and will give all enough time to have a (set of) good candidate(s) for August. I believe this is what's best for our wonderful class.'
Until the AGM in Kalmar, Sweden, current Vice President, Sailing, Ali ENVER ADAKAN (TUR) has been asked by ROGGE to act as interim President.
