The International Foundation for Disabled Sailing (IFDS) have updated the system used to classify disabled sailors so that they are eligible to compete in IFDS Disabled Sailing World Championships and the Paralympics.
The IFDS Functional Classification System (FCS) & Procedures Manual 2005-2008 has been posted in the Disabled Sailing section of the ISAF Website.
A document explaining the changes to the FCS can also be found in the Disabled Sailing section.
The aim of the FCS is to allow sailors with different disabilities to fairly compete against each other at sailing regattas.
