America's Cup 2007
Lake Garda, Italy

Christian ‘Blumi’ SCHERRER, who has already experienced the America’s Cup with Alinghi, Fast 2000 and One Australia, is the latest recruit of team manager Cesare PASOTTI for the Italian +39 team.
SCHERRER’s sailing began on the lakes in Switzerland and he is now one of the most titled and expert Swiss yachtsmen. He was a sailor with the America’s Cup winning Team Alinghi in Auckland. Before that he was part of the Fast 2000 crew, the first Swiss entry to the Cup, and worked with One Australia in San Diego in 1994-1995.

SCHERRER was also a watchleader aboard the maxi yacht Merit in the 1993-1994 Whitbread Round the World Race. He has competed in almost all the important races in the world, from match racing to transatlantic crossings, from monotypes to maxi yachts. Back home, on the small lake of St. Moritz in Switzerland, he is the organizer of the latest Swedish Match Tour Event, the St.Moritz Match Race. He is a graduate in Sports and Management.
