Youth Sailing Kicks Off Tomorrow

Optimist Oceanian Championship
Noumea

Noumea in New Caledonia is the host of the 4th IODA Oceanians which start on Sunday 12th. A total of 37 sailors are entered from seven countries*: Australia, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti, Wallis & Futuna I.
All boats, from the Shanghai Far East company, with optional sails from Olimpic and Toni Tio are supplied. They are part of a batch of 50 which
will be DONATED to local clubs after the event.

Philippe Mazard of the Organising Committee reports: 'During this week, we have organised 4 days of courses for the sailing instructors from clubs to
develop the organisation of competitions in their clubs. They will have high tech Optimists they must know what to do and how to do with those new
boats.'
